Tonight, I decided to bake my first apple pie in this fall season.
It's almost 10pm but I did not mind, and this lovely looking treat will make a tasty breakfast tomorrow!
I found a great and simple recipe on a popular local cooking web portal and decided to give it a try.
It took me literally 10 minutes to mix the ingridients ( plus 5 additional minutes for apple peeling and cutting in slices ).
It's a great recipe for begginers, too and I thought it would be a good idea to share it!
LATE NIGHT BAKING - APPLE PIE
You will need:
150 grams butter
130 grams castor sugar
5 tsp vanilla sugar
3 whole eggs
1 egg yolk
150 grams flour
1 tsp baking powder
4 medium apples (peeled and cut in slices, then mixed with a juice of 1 lemon to prevent browning)
two pinches of salt
Process:
Put butter, castor sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl and mix for 3-4 minutes.
Add 3 whole eggs and an egg yolk, flour, baking powder and salt, then mix again until well combined.
Oil the baking pan/pie pan and spread the mixture on it.
Take sliced apples and sort on top of the mixture in preffered order.
Put all in the preheated oven, then bake for aprox 40 minutes on 170 degrees Celsius.
Additional sweet dressing:
If you'd like this pie to be more juicy, put 130 grams of castor sugar, juice of one lemon and 2,5 dl water in a small pot and cook until the liquid becomes thicker, like a syrup (don't worry if it stays too watery, it won't effect the result much).
After you take the pie out of the oven, let it cool for 10 minutes, then pour syrup over it ( you don't have to use the entire amount, do it by your taste).
Let it cool and that's it!
Tasty, juicy, adorable and simple, soft apple pie!
